Small low profile Fair in Belfast. Not much in the way of Stamps. I did pick up some Ireland First Day Covers.
Also bought seven Ireland Postcards from the “Golden Age”. All were addressed to the same person in the small village of Glenanne in County Armagh. Five of the seven were sent from towns and villages in the area…Glenanne, Markethill (two), Whitecross and Poyntzpass. Two were sent from the seaside resort of Rostrevor in County Down.
The seven postcards were actually part of around fifty cards, all addressed to one person.
The message on the above card reads …”how are you getting along darling. Sorry to have missed you the other night. Hope to have better luck next time. Meet me by moonlight alone darling. Your own sweetheart”.
It was posted from Whitecross to Glenanne in August 1907. No doubt the lady who received this and the other cards treasured them. Sad that they end up in a stall in a Collectors Fair.
